Ousmane Dembélé: PSG’s Target to Replace Mbappé, But Barcelona Forward Expresses Commitment

As rumours circulate about Kylian Mbappé’s potential move to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reportedly has its sights set on Ousmane Dembélé as a replacement.

The PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, is said to be considering taking advantage of Dembélé’s release clause of €50 million, which expires on July 31. However, Dembélé, who is yet to extend his contract with FC Barcelona, has expressed his desire to continue with the Catalan club.

PSG’s Interest in Dembélé

With Mbappé’s potential departure, PSG is exploring options to strengthen their squad. Journalist Santi Aouna from Foot Mercato reports that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is considering recruiting Ousmane Dembélé as a replacement. The PSG president is keen to take advantage of Dembélé’s release clause before it expires at the end of July.

Additionally, PSG’s new coach, Luis Enrique, highly appreciates the 26-year-old French international’s profile, further fueling the club’s interest in him. PSG is reportedly prepared to offer Dembélé a significant salary to entice him back to Ligue 1.

Dembélé’s Commitment to Barcelona

Despite having only one year left on his contract with Barcelona, Ousmane Dembélé has shown no signs of wanting to leave the club.

Mundo Deportivo reveals that Dembélé, through his agent Moussa Sissoko, has communicated to Barcelona’s leadership that he has no intention of activating his release clause and wishes to continue his adventure in Catalonia.

This information aligns with Dembélé’s own statements in an interview with Marca, where he clarified that there is no deal with PSG and expressed his contentment with Barcelona. The club is keen to renew his contract until 2027, and discussions will take place between his agent and the club.

Despite PSG’s reported interest and their desire to recruit Ousmane Dembélé as a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, the Barcelona forward has expressed his commitment to continue with FC Barcelona.
